We want to share with you what it's like to live in this slice of paradise

Waking up every day to the warmth of a sun that shines bright all year round, so you can capture it on paper.

Lessons will be tailored dynamically to suit the group's needs and interests. We only move forward to the next topic when we finish the previous one.

The goal of this week's art is to provide a place for sharing knowledge in a relaxing environment where you can immerse into painting without worrying about anything else that usually traps us during our daily lives.

All set in the heart of Lanzarote. In a majestic villa surrounded by stunning views that instantly connect us to the island's spirit.

Daily Schedule of Your Artistic Journey

Beyond painting alongside Catalina every day, you'll also have free time to relax, to practice on your own, or to discover Lanzarote island and share your experiences with other artists over a cup of tea.

Day 1

Welcome to Lanzarote

The retreat begins from the moment you land, our journey starts with the ride from the airport to the villa, where the beauty of Lanzarote begins to unfold. Settle into your room, then join us for a welcome chat followed by our first workshop with Catalina. We’ll end our first day with a cozy welcome dinner.

Day 2

Atlantic views & sketching

The sun will greet us with a fresh breakfast buffet. Backpacks ready, we head out to explore, connect, and capture the island in our sketchbooks. We’ll enjoy two outdoor classes, taste traditional Canarian food, and maybe even dip in the sea. In the afternoon, we return to the villa for some relaxed art studio time or a swim, at your own pace. A sunset dinner will close the day.

Day 3

The art of watercolor

Morning coffee in hand, we’ll begin the day with a landscape painting workshop with Catalina. After a vibrant brunch, there’s free time to enjoy the pool before we dive into our second workshop of the day. The farewell dinner will close this shared adventure.

Day 4

Bye byeeee

Wake up surrounded by peace for a gentle breakfast. Then, we’ll gather for a closing session to look back at everyone’s creative journey. With your memories packed, we’ll say goodbye to this dreamy energy and head to the airport.

Catalina Rodriguez Villazón

Catalina is a Spanish watercolorist from Asturias. With an intimate and colorful style, she combines strength and delicacy, emphasizing the importance of gesture in her work. In 2012, she rediscovered her passion for art, which led her, five years later, to pursue painting full-time.

She is the Spanish ambassador for the Australian brand Etchr Lab and for the French brands of paint Sennelier, Isabey, and Raphael. Vibrant and approachable, she organizes workshops and watercolor classes, both in-person and online.

In addition to her personal work, Catalina paints a wide variety of subjects for commercial and editorial clients, maintaining a fresh and elegant aesthetic. She has taught watercolor workshops and worked as a guest artist in several countries. We can't wait to see Lanzarote through her eyes.

What should I pack?

The weather in Lanzarote is sunny and warm. October is the best month to visit the island. You can expect average highs of 25°C during the day that drop to around 17°C at night. Lanzarote enjoys very mild winters and warm summers, and very little rain throughout the year. It is a windy island, so bring a coat with you to protect yourself from it.

Please pack appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a swimsuit, a beach towel, flip flops, a coat for evenings and nights, comfortable shoes, a sun hat and sunglasses, personal care items, and any personal medication you might need.

Is transportation included?

During the retreat, yes. We take you to the different places where we create, and that's part of the price.

Getting to Lanzarote and transfers to and from the airport aren't included, unless the retreat page says otherwise.

A host's tip. Public transport in Lanzarote is limited and taxis are expensive. If you'd like to explore the island during the free time in the retreat, we suggest teaming up with other participants and sharing a car. Write to us and we'll help you find people to join.

How does the payment process work for reserving a spot in the retreat?

To ensure a smooth and transparent reservation process, here's a breakdown of our payment system:

  • To secure your place in the retreat, a 100 € payment is required. Once your spot is reserved, we will reach out via email with additional details about the retreat. We recommend holding off on your flight booking until the retreat is guaranteed, as this is subject to a minimum participant requirement.
  • Once the retreat is guaranteed, we will notify you by email and recommend that you proceed with your flight bookings.
  • Retreat payment. The remaining balance for the retreat is due 45 days before the start date. We will send you a reminder a few days prior to this deadline for the remaining payment.

Will I receive a full refund if the retreat is cancelled?

Yes, absolutely. If we're the ones cancelling, you get back everything you've paid.

That said, we rarely get to that point, because we don't cancel for lack of participants. If a retreat doesn't reach the expected numbers, we propose an adapted version that keeps the accommodation, the meals, the transport and the artistic guidance. You decide whether it works for you. If it doesn't, you cancel with no penalty and we refund you in full.

The same applies if we have to change something significant about what you booked. We tell you in writing, explain your options, and you decide.

Refunds are paid by the same method you used and within a maximum of 14 calendar days.

You'll find the full detail in our Terms and Conditions and on the page setting out your key rights when you book a package.

One tip. Take out travel insurance with cancellation cover. We're responsible for our side, but if you're the one who has to cancel for a personal reason, that insurance is the only thing that covers what you've paid, including your flights.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Once your booking is confirmed, here's what happens if you need to cancel.

  • Cancel 90 days or more before the retreat and you get everything back, including the 100 € you paid to reserve your place.
  • Cancel between 89 and 45 days before and we refund 75% of what you've paid.
  • Cancel between 44 and 30 days before and we refund 50%.
  • From 29 days onwards we can't offer a refund. Even so, tell us what's happened. Our team will look at your situation and find the best way forward within what's in our hands.

If something serious and outside anyone's control happens at the destination, you can cancel at no cost whatever the timing. You'll find the detail in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

If I want to extend my trip to Lanzarote, where can I stay?

We sincerely recommend looking for a room at Pitaya Coliving in Arrecife, a place with unique energy co-livers. If you prefer something on your own, we suggest searching for apartments in Costa Teguise, a well-located town close to the sea.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
